Neighborhood Street Party!

This past Saturday, after taking a hot dish out of the oven, our family grabbed some chairs and blanket and headed down the street to have dinner. Our neighbors were gathering together for a social "pot luck" in the middle of the street. Our Home Owners Association has just began a new tradition of having a neighborhood street party! We live in a small community of townhomes on one small street.

The first street party was last Spring. The days were much longer and we could actually see each other better. On Saturday, the night came much quicker! Mosquitos were on the loose and very active. So, my girls and I didn't last long. But, while we were there, we ate yummy turkey, beef brisket, and other wonderful dishes! We mingled a little and played with lots of the neighborhood dogs. Allison loves doggies!

Jarrett grabbed the camera to take a quick picture of me and the girls before we headed back home to be mosquito free. Isn't it such a sweet picture!!!

I do love getting to know our neighbors. I feel much safer when I know others are looking out for us!

I'm very glad that our Association has began this tradition.
