Cough, Cough, Go Away!

So, remember back to that Long Night when my littlest was sick? And then remember her Update on how well she was doing?

Well, it's been about a week and half and Allison is sick again. But, in addition, Annalise is also sick.

It all started back the day before we traveled home from our Thanksgiving trip to Georgia. Allison is pulling her ears again, very snotty, and coughing up a storm at night. And just a couple of nights ago, Annalise woke up at midnight with a very scary croupy cough. She gets croup at least once a year. And it is frightening...for her and for her mommy and daddy. It always seems to come on suddenly in the middle of the night. Annalise began her "seal barking" cough and wheezing and couldn't stop. She started to panic and had a hard time breathing. So, we turned on a hot shower and rocked her in the bathroom to let the steam open her airways. After about 15 min of trying to calm her down, daddy finally distracted her from her struggle. He asked her questions about Strawberry Shortcake and The Care Bares (Daddy's so smart)! She began taking deep breaths and letting the steam do it's work. But, every couple of minutes Annalise would remember how scary her moment was and would start all over again in a panic. So, the TV got turned on for a distraction and we stayed awake until almost 2:30AM. What a night!

So, how are my kids today?

Still SICK!

Here my girls are this morning watching the DoodleBops. I have a feeling that we might get a little T.V. overload by the end of the day. And next we are getting ready for a big nap!

Please pray for my sweet girls. They are so ready to be healthy. They have red, raw skin under their noses, a little sleep deprived, and are wanting to drink milk again! Also pray for this tired and weary mommy...that I would continue to be sensitive to their needs and just love, love, love on them.

Sick kids is no fun! Especially when they are so young. I hope they are feeling better today.

Unfortunately, it was another hard night last night. Annalise was up 4 times with a persistant cough. Why does this have to happen at night!

I'll be praying for you and the girls. It's tough when your babies are sick. I'll pray you all get much needed rest.
