"Mommy, I want to be like you...but..."

Setting the stage:
I am singing Christmas carols throughout the house while cleaning. Annalise is pretending like she is cleaning, only just moping around behind me.

Annalise: Mommy, I want to be like you when I'm older. I just don't want to sing all day.

Mommy: (taken back and trying not to laugh) Exactly what does that mean, Annalise?

Annalise: Well, I want to sing and be on stage. I just only want to sing one time a day. Mommy, can you just sing one time and then be done?

Mommy: Well, I love that you want to be like mommy on stage, but do you really think I sing too much.

Annalise: Yes! Like a hundreds and hundreds!

Mommy: Wow, I'm sorry. I'll try not to sing that much anymore if you don't want me to.

Annalise: It's okay mommy, you can sing. It is just a little annoying sometimes.

Mommy: (oh my, she just told me I was annoying) (laughing hysterically) HA HA HA HA HA!

Later that Day...

Mommy: (forgets and begins singing) Bells are ringing children singing, all is merry and bright...

Annalise: EH EH EH!!! Mommy! You already sang one time today!

Out of the mouths of babes!! Well, she can't say and DIDN"t say that you sounded badly while doing it!! Maybe someday she will translate that into "passion"!! Have a good weekend!

Yes - at least she has a mommy who sings very well - my poor kids - what they had to suffer - yeah - like I really feel bad about that!!!

How funny! Don't they just say the darnest things? Isabella was very excited to recognize you on stage singing last week at church.

That is so funny!! Hey...at least she didn't tell you that you smell like a vacuum cleaner. I was told that last week, when I was sick and in my pajamas all day. I decided then that it must be time for a shower. :) What compliments we get! :)
