Well, after only a short time enrolled in gymnastics, Annalise decided she didn't like the bars and the beam. She said she only liked the kind of gymnastics that mommy teaches! Well, that's good news because mommy only teaches floor to Annalise and I am $65 cheaper a month!
Jarrett and I were brainstorming on other activities that Annalise might enjoy that would also allow her to have more "outside social experiences." Annalise is a crazy nut around her cousins and a few close friends, but other than that, she is a pretty shy little girl. So, after reading Julie's post about Girl Scouts, a new idea emerged! I have always had a passion to involve my children in community service. And Annalise loves to help others. We talked to Annalise about it and she was IN the second she realized that these are the girls that sell those cookies (and that it was a "girls club")! So, Annalise is in now a registered Girl Scout! She will be in the Daisy Troop for 2 years (5 and 6 year olds). She is working on earning petals to make a Daisy on her tunic that she wears.
In order for her to join the group, they needed another co-leader for them to allow another troop member...so....now I'm a co-leader. Honestly, I think that is best for her this year anyways because Annalise probably wouldn't have went into the room without me.
Well, she had her first meeting about a month ago and fell in love! That meeting we arrived early and she warmed up quickly to the girls. They were very welcoming! She made some new friends and couldn't wait to go back. We've attended a few more meetings and she has done well but took more time to warm up. Mommy was late to the meeting...it sure does make a difference...all those little eyes looking at you...must be on time in the future...better yet, early!
Friday night, Annalise joined her troop to sing at Summerville Assisted Living Community. The girls did a great job. They even made ornaments a few weeks prior to hand out to the residents there. They had a great time!
The one big bummer about that evening was that I didn't have my camera! So, here are a few pics we got from the cell phone! Sorry for the terrible quality!
Annalise with a few of her friends!
The Daisy Troop!
We are excited to start our cookie sales in January! Save some of that Christmas money to help out the Daisy Scouts!

How fun for you two! I looked into this last week, until I realized she wasn't old enough. :-) We just took her out of preschool to save some money. Looking forward to more daisy posts...
I'm glad she found something that she loves. I also look forward to some of those yummy cookies :)
