Every Friday since the beginning of the school year, Annalise's friend, Abbie comes over to hang out for the day while her mom, Jess (also my friend), is at work. Typically, these girls loves to challenge each other on who can be the boss for the day. I normally get the opportunity to break arguments and issue timeouts quite regularly. Let me explain a few reasons why. Annalise is 5 years old and is the youngest among her cousins (who she spends a lot of time with). She is very much a follower when she is with her cousins and is okay being bossed around. So, when Abbie comes, Annalise gets extremely pumped to have someone younger than her to boss around. Oh, but wait...Abbie is a fiery little 4 year old with lots of leadership skills! Abbie can give Annalise a run for her money! So, I decided I have to be a little more involved in their playtime today. Instead of sending the kids into a room and letting them battle it out for the day while I get chores done, I decided to engage in some play time today.
Here is what our Friday looked like today:
First, I decided to start our day off right and read the bible with the girls. I just love "My First Message" by Eugene Peterson (see my other blog where I give this book a great review!). We prayed together and then started off our morning!
The girls picked a flower petal from a craft that Annalise had made a few months ago. Each flower petal had a "nice thing" to do for the day written on them. Annalise's petal said to "Make Daddy a card." Abbie's said to "Practice saying Thank You all day." So, the girls decided to do both of them. Here are the girls making "team" cards for their dad's.

Annalise's daddy is a very big UGA fan...Go DAWGS! And Abbie said her daddy like "the other" team. So, my guess was the Gators (boo!). So, I got this fun pose below for the dad's!
Next, we went to play some princess games! Believe it or not, there was absolutely NO arguing! They even did some dancing to Zoe Girl! Wow, Jess, that Abbie has some moves! Unfortunately my video was too large to post!

And after we had lunch, I took the girls out for a walk to look for a rainbow. It had been raining all morning and our Bible reading was about God's promise after the flood. Unfortunately, the sun never shined out from behind all the clouds. And instead of going on a walk. The kids went on a ride while I ran behind them trying to keep up! I even found a way to get all 3 girls on board. Abbie was such a good sport! I think she enjoyed the surprise bumps and swerves along the way!

After a while, Allison wanted to get off to walk and the girls sped off! Allison thought it was extremely fun to try and catch them!

So, after we got back, we all came back to rest. Abbie and Allison fell asleep quick. Annalise read a few books in my bed. I did this blog post! Can't wait to spend some time with Abbie next Friday!

Oh, and both girls said "Thank You" all day!
